It’s 1940 and we find Mickey in a black and white animation studio painting his favorite subject, Walt.  Suddenly, a broom from Fantasia appears and takes Mickey’s paint.   Before you know it Mickey is chasing the broom which transports Mickey, and his painting, into a fresh, color-filled world.

 “Remember…It All Started with a Mouse” is a tribute to Walt’s legacy and visionary imagination. The portrait captures Walt’s joy and laughter through his contagious smile, as he is surrounded by color, allowing each of us to share in his spirit of animation.  The pallet of colors cleverly reveals this year’s celebrated film anniversaries (Walt Disney’s 101 Dalmatians, Walt Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Walt Disney’s Dumbo and Disney Beauty and the Beast). 

 Look a little closer and observe how the swirls of color subtly shape an iconic “23”.  Explore the piece further and discover 23 hidden Mickey’s.  And, in a nod to all animation artists, the posted note is what Walt considered the “good stuff” – never throw out any idea.
